nice find ... nice find ... it seems like a stick insect that I saw in Africa, but those were alive :)

Walter, I was wondering where all the things we take photos of go to ... hence the quote, ;-).
If this one were alive I am sure would have used a supertele lens ...

kobico, yes, perhaps that is what happens to all the twigs, leaves, feathers ...

It looks like a very well camouflaged stick insect.

Your quotes make me smile ... I can imagine this poor little twig blowing around in the winter cold ... and have not thought of such things before reading your quote.

Not winter here ... it's sweltering today and we haven't even reached summer yet!

Joan Elizabeth, yes, exactly - yesterday we had some strong autumn winds around here :-). It is not so bad at the moment for November, sunny and around 12 to 13 °C ... but far from sweltering ...

41C where we were today ... 12C suddenly seems like bliss.

Tash, who knows where it is now. Crushed under some feet? Drowned in the river? Taken by some bird?
;-)
