Joan Elizabeth, I went out of my way with this one and did some heavy post-processing ;-), i.e. moving sliders from left to right and vice versa until the noise and blur were reduced and everything else was black. Golden rule in the age of digital photography: Never ever delete a photo, however misshapen it may be, ;-)
Vita, thanks a lot!
Roberto, yes, indeed.
Luis, gracias!
James, thanks. This is a Romanic cloister (built 1240 - 1245), part of a basilica I visited on my birthday in November - after visiting a Gisèle Freund exhibition in the same town, ;-)
This is more a daily feed than a daily blog.
Photos are resized or may be cropped - that's the only post-processing I do.
The quotes: it is essential to me to only quote from things I am currently reading ... I must admit it is sometimes lopsided ... reading a 1000 page novel takes some time ;-)

This one is interesting in that there is so little else other than the light.
light is beautiful in its darkness....
