Joan Elizabeth, I guess the right word would be "landmark". Stones standing at the boundary of two settlements, each has the name of the town/village you are facing insribed on one side or the other. It reads "Bischofsheim", :-).
This is more a daily feed than a daily blog.

The quotes: it is essential to me to only quote from things I am currently reading ... I must admit it is sometimes lopsided ... reading a 1000 page novel takes some time ;-)
