Now that is "real" mountain scenery ... wild and primative. Love the matching quote.

Great shot! Unfortunately, we don't have any mountains like that in my neck of the woods...

A gem of a B&W photo.

I bet that forms a nice cornice to ski down in the winter. I can picture how I'd approach it, where to plant my poles ... and at which point my tips would cross and I'd go tumbling down the hill!

Love it!

Pretty rugged, nice shot. It's one of those where you would like to see a colour shot alongside for comparison.

Fantastic photo: a good job of grays and contrasts. The copy is very appropriate!

Thank you for all your nice comments :-).

Shelley, the Alps are 500 km from where I live - only some steep vineyards in my "neck of the woods" (have to google this .... interesting expression)

kobico, lol. You do heliskiing? ;-)

John, in fact the original coloured one is ... bad. No contrast, no colours. But you are right, the mountains usually are made for colour photos, I have a hard time chosing some for b/w conversion.

great mood and great mountains ... I like it.

Nice dramatic crest - it looks like the boots at least made it this far.

I could never justify the cost of heliskiing, Martina, but I did don snowshoes on occasion in my younger days to be able to ski the less-frequented areas.

kobico, wow! I do not know if one could get up there with snowshoes or touring skis but it must be an amazing experience. wow again!

M - now I remember how I found you. I think through Aileni. . . who it seems has disappeared.

Your photos were very different a year ago. I have to think about this.

-me, yes, one day the blog and profile simply vanished.

Hm, I have to think about this, too. I have some ideas about this, though.
