I never noticed the pattern on the face of Big Ben before. I like your unique perspective on it, and I like this picture/quote combination, very clever!
Likewise, I don't think I've seen it close up like this before. You do such interesting shots ... I would be doing the whole building not just the clock face ... things to learn.
I like the concept.. some questions though.. .what lens, and did you crop it or take it... if you know what I mean... PS: Quicksilver is a long book :)
AB, yes I did wait. And also I did wait yesterday night and posted it just before twelve. Whatever blogger says about 23.51h: it's a lie!! ;-)
Sean, it's cropped out of a photo taken with a tele lens, focal length 300mm, that makes up to 450mm with the Sony ccd. Very noisy, but I thought it okay in this case. Any yes, Quicksilver is very long. I think I might give it a break with the quotes and use some The New Yorker short stories ... or await some quotes-on-requests ...
This is more a daily feed than a daily blog.
Photos are resized or may be cropped - that's the only post-processing I do.
The quotes: it is essential to me to only quote from things I am currently reading ... I must admit it is sometimes lopsided ... reading a 1000 page novel takes some time ;-)

Excellent London's graphics. Congratulations. You're an blaclandwhiteartist!
Rather ominous moment - the last minute before twelve. Did you wait to take it?

Sorry... Quiksilver....hmmmm!

Thx for all the nice comments :-)
I agree about the ominous feel to this. I am learning, too, that a small part can often say much much more than the whole.
Very nice composition. It's such an iconic image we all know what it is, even seeing only a small(?) portion of it.
Martina: You are a pro!
