Now that's what I would call an old "shitbox," even though it's a Mercedes.

I'd say the next step would be to clear off that passenger seat! I love cars from the '50s and '60s, with the huge steering wheels and bench seats.

in a world of ever decreasing circles the next step is always shorter

How tastes change. What looks like a basic, tacky, plastic dashboard was probably the height of luxury.

As many of you have seen with the next posting it does not look like that someone is really going to make an attempt to restore the car.

kobico, these steering wheels always feel strange to me - they are so thin, you have nothing in your hands. I have absolutely no idea about the year of construction - because of the fintail I would assume it is this modell.

AB, what I really like is the rectangular "Walzen"-tachometer.

donnie, what do you do when you reach the centre? ;-)

Our first car had bench seats ... interesting to look back ... we never do know what the next step is even when we plan ever so carefully.

Joan Elizabeth, hmm I don't think German (European?) cars ever had bench seats -- this is something I only know from American movies (so Australian movies perpaps, too).
