Aw, it's almost like when I sleep with my dog! Except she sleeps, too, and over the course of the night, migrates from her doggie blanket at the foot of the bed to the top. This morning her head was on my pillow!
Joan Elizabeth thank you - as so often I struggled with this one - the story is about some dredge in the Florida swamps ... combining this with my Paris' photos ... is surreal sometimes, ;-).
David, this is part of a cadaver tomb in the Basilica of St. Denis's burial site. I was really astonished to see that almost each of the cadaver tombs had one or two dogs (sometimes other animals such as lions) at the effigies feet. Disclaimer: I learned these words (cadaver tomb, effigy) from the very good wikipeda article linked above, ;-)
Paula, some of these effigy-dogs are really cute - I will surely post some more, time to come.
kobico, ah, who knows what she is doing while you are sleeping, :-) - perhaps watching over you, too?
This is more a daily feed than a daily blog.
Photos are resized or may be cropped - that's the only post-processing I do.
The quotes: it is essential to me to only quote from things I am currently reading ... I must admit it is sometimes lopsided ... reading a 1000 page novel takes some time ;-)

Beautiful...
What a great match of image and quote today. Just enough in the image - masterful.
OK, this one is pretty strange. Details?
Fido isn't going to give up I see. Love the way you've captured the light.

Gorgeous image, you found fabulous lighting and took great advantage of it :o)
Uncle Boo, thank you. It is not so bad for a handheld 1/6 sec and 1600ISO - at least in this small format. The original has much noise.
