Joan Elizabeth, you are absolutely right in this: I am reading a(German written) paperback with essays about Switzerland. No New Yorker in sight with a short story (New York seems to be a long way from Mainz, duh). So I have to fall back to Shelley, Shakespeare, Pig, Rat and (my favourite) Guard Duck!
