I like the unknowns of the photo and the surprise of the London origin of the bell. Is it the accent that made it sound strange? (not so funny, but I tried.)
I wonder ... for whom does the bell toll? Okay, my joke wasn't so good, either, and I had the wrong author. But the question is still valid. Dinner, maybe?
I really do not know the purpose of this bell :-) - it is on Southend Pier, perhaps only an embellishment? Something for tourist to take pictures of? Perhaps an old ship's bell? Hm, I am not sure if ship have bells ... .
This is more a daily feed than a daily blog.
Photos are resized or may be cropped - that's the only post-processing I do.
The quotes: it is essential to me to only quote from things I am currently reading ... I must admit it is sometimes lopsided ... reading a 1000 page novel takes some time ;-)

A classic shape in plain black and white --- somehow it could not be more bell-like.
