That is an extremely pretty butterfly, I've never seen one like it. Looks like it gave you a challenge shooting it though. I generally give up chasing them ... they are such flighty creatures.
Joan Elizabeth, kobico: it was perfectly still - I didn't focus properly :-(. On the other hand I liked the blur in this pic, so .... . It's an European peacock - even if wikipedia says it is very common I can't remember having seen one since childhood.
Thanks for the comment on 'Dante', I'm sure it doesn't sum up the future for Sicily, but I found it intriguing that someone had taken the effort to quote him.
This is more a daily feed than a daily blog.
Photos are resized or may be cropped - that's the only post-processing I do.
The quotes: it is essential to me to only quote from things I am currently reading ... I must admit it is sometimes lopsided ... reading a 1000 page novel takes some time ;-)

Wow, that butterfly is such a vibrant orange! I agree with Joan Elizabeth, they are difficult to chase down.
