Oh Martina, I do so enjoy your blog. I'm never quite sure what to react to the photo, the caption or the combination. Today's photo does have the sort of 'erk a dead cockroach' look and yet without the quote the statue has none of that emotion. Hilarious.

Nice bw - maybe could do with a little tweak on the levels. If this means nothing, ignore me, its a great shot as it is!

Joan Elizabeth, thank you very much :-))). Hm, yes, I think my new other-way-round method (i.e. starting with a quote and looking for a photo to work with the quote) is not so bad ... hm.

Highton-Ridley, hm, let me think about it ... I am not such a great tweaker I must say and I was quite satisfied with the result yesterday night, it's a crop of a slightly underexposed 300mm photo.
But since I welcome every constructive comment, don't hesitate, :-).

Haha, I actually like that her slightly overexposed torso stands out against her subdued face, especially when taken in context with the quote, which is hilarious on its own! It kind of makes me want to read the book...

"Oh no, not one of those days again!"

kobico, I totally agree with you. The quote is from a short story in the latest New Yorker, after reading the first paragraph I searched for some of his novels, esp. Flight sound nice ;-).
