Unusual image for you, Martina. The labels say metal sign, but initially I thought that to be one of those mirrors that are used to assist with negotiating treacherous corners. In Australia, too, we have home-made signs with the little rip-off phone numbers on the bottom.
Yes, it is the back of a street sign - street signs are often used as a kind of bulletin board - political stickers, apartment/room listings, advertisements et al.
