Oops, that should have been Dr Seuss - he of "Cat in the Hat" and other great children's books.

AB, yes, google came up with Dr. Seuss, but I have never heard of him before. Might be unknown to Germans? Or only unknown to me, of course ... .

Some of the Dr Seuss creations have made it to the big screen -- the Grinch, for example, which is a Christmas favourite, even in Germany, I think. Most of the books are simple absurd rhymes that kids love and are the basis of some wonderful illustrations. Others such as the Sneetches are extremely insightful parables on human nature.

The figure in the photo looks a bit like a Sneetch.
