Joan Elizabeth, yes, they are fascinating - but I must admit I have a little problem with this species. I am glad I don't see them around here. I used the tele for this one, I have some photos where I used the macro lens and therefore I had to come very very near ... the mantis was eating a bumblebee ... I was so near I heard her jaws grinding ... I think ... :-S
I like this guy .. insects fascinate me as photographic subjects.
