  1. Why some people walk up on such sights and some of us don't, I'll never know...

  2. Seen pics of these love tokens before, a fascinating and very sweet tradition.

  3. Martina - oh my gosh - you did it. . . I'm so honored. And I absolutely adore the photo.

  5. Love tokens? That's a tradition I haven't heard of ... just looks like a wierd place to put a lock without that explanation (which also explains your quote).

  6. Paula, :-). Perhaps because there is no love token lock tradition in your part of the world - or is there?

Paul, first time I saw them in Italy (FRIDAY, OCTOBER 17, 2008 postings)- this one seems like a start-up - if there might be some more next year? It's at a fence in Jardin du Luxembourg.

    thlol, and I suppose this quote fits ... I can't know because I don't have enough pages ... ehem ... .

Roberto, hopefully this dream comes true.

AB, tattt - not a little bit romantic, you?

Joan Elizabeth, seems like this tradition hasn't reached Australia yet ... you could start it :-).

And again - thank you very much for all your comments!

  7. Perhaps a good excuse for you to visit Paris next year!?
Haven't seen it over here yet either, maybe it will happen sometime.

  8. Paul, last year when I was in Paris for the first time I made a "Martina's Life Law" that says: Go to Paris once a year for some days.

:-) I definitely plan to have a look at that fence the next year.

Hm, I am quite sure I have seen this in London last year .... but alas, no photos. So take this with a grain of salt.

  9. Yes in Italy is a common practice.. especially here in Rome.

Personally I'm not a fun of what's behind this custom, here in Italy all started from a poor super advertised book.

Anyway like how you composed this! Minimalistic and elegant.

  10. LS, ah, I didn't realise that. First time I saw them (in Italy as I said before) was in Viareggio btw. Since I am more on the unromantic side ... what shall I say? They make nice photographical objects, ;-)
