RE legos in the US -- they are soooo popular (after all it is a consumer item, we even have Legoland in California with amazing lego cities) - when I was a kid in Yugoslavia, I had only red and white basics and loved them. Now I have a collection of airplanes & spaceships & basic blocks that my son used to play with. But the best part was still when he built from his imagination - restaurants and wild vehicles... He hasn't played with them for about 4 years now (just turned 15) but I'm saving them for the grandkids. Thanks for bringing up good memories. Tash

Tash, ;-), I had the basics, too, some more colours I recall. I built everything with the blocks, cars, trees, houses ... didn't need to have some round shaped thing to make a tyre, ;-).

That's from Hermann Hesse, I don't now what exactly the source is. It is a very popular German wedding motto.
I find it much too kitschy and so tried do take a photo of only some of the words and perhaps give them room for interpretation.
