I'm never quite sure whether I like industrial (or farming equipment). I admire its power and function but don't like all the hissing, grinding, dust and smoke that seem to go with them.
The current novel is certainly a very rich source of interesting quotes.
kobico, yes it is. The photo is slightly overexposured and so I thought it would fit for b/w.
ER, eh, I am not so sure - one of the many pipes and tubes and conduits a steelworks has. With some additional vegetation ... .
AB, :-D
Joan Elizabeth, puh I am thinking I will switch to quote from some New Yorker short stories sooner or later --- I am at page 452 of 815 --- I might need some change, ;-)
This steelworks stopped production around 1986, so no hissing and grinding, but lots of wonderfully coloured rust and moss.
I keep looking at this and all I can think of is something obscene someone said to me once when I was doing some construction work in a place that looked a lot like this. My goodness, that was a lifetime ago.
Is this your trip to Volklingen? It certainly looks imposing!
ReplyDeleteI like this. Don't know what it is. But i like it! ;)
ReplyDeleteThey have started planting wheat fields in the Hütte!
