  1. Or maybe a bathroom break:) But it is an interesting image of the violinist. I wonder what his story is? He looks like he has probably been playing for a long time and is playing on the street because...? Wait a minute, I take pictures not write stories; I better rein in my imagination.

  2. Martina... very thoughtful and provocative... Nicely captured.... something a little uneasy about it though but I am not sure what.. perhaps the crop!

  3. Mmm your marriage of caption and image is always so thought provoking ... use a different caption on the same image and we'd end up with a totally different feeling. Excellent as always.

  4. CiB, yes, you are right, :-) - more to come in my today's posting.

Sean, Joan Elizabeth, I am a bit uneasy with the quote. I felt like I was doing him wrong. Don't know. Strange ... . But than I had an idea for today's posting ... so we will see.

Sean, crop as in 'to crop'? Nothing cropped. Crop as in composition/frame? Hm, I was in Sean-mood ... ;-) ... overcoming my shyness with photographing people on the streets .. .

  5. You seem to have met some interesting characters when out on your fishing expedition. This guy has a fascinating face, his violin makes him more interesting and you have caught him in a nice contemplative moment.

How do you arrange these shots with strangers? I guess you ask permission first? Do you leave them your blog address?

  6. AB, fishing in a reaaaaalll biiiig city is much more easier - usually I just gave them money and thanked them. All these street musicians and artists are used to be photographed by tourists I suppose, nobody seemed to be offended. I would have never dared around here ...
