  1. Now, whoever lived here had a hook fetish. Look at them all!!

This is like a picture out of a children's story book that one has to look at over and over. I love it.

I can hear families playing and families squabbling. I can hear that wonderful door flapping and then slamming shut. I can hear water being chugged up by that pump and splashing into the trough.

    Wonderful ..

  3. I think that picture is perfect. It has so many good qualities on it, the texture, lighting, and overall feel. Very nice.

  4. A beautiful image. Appeals to my sense of the rustic.

  5. Looking at the enlargement the contrast is still sharp so I have to wonder at the color values. It's surprising to me - still - what doesn't translate well into monochrome. The real corker for me is the open transom.

  6. You capture well the higgledy-pigglediness of the old building.

  7. Unfortunately there isn't any English website about this estate, so my meagre information has to suffice: it is a court estate built 1560, situated nowadays in a UNESCO nature-sanctuary.

And of course they put some 21st century stainless steel bicycle stands in the frontyard's corner.
